Printmaking Workshops

I have a small studio in a lovely location near Matfield in Kent, just off the A21. I’ve taught printmaking for the last five years, including teaching with Kent Adult Education, I also print professionally for other artists and am a technician in a busy London print workshop. My approach is to encourage everyone to give printmaking a go and enjoy getting lost in the process. All you’ll need to bring is an apron, packed lunch and enthusiasm!

RYE CREATIVE CENTRE WORKSHOPS

PRINTMAKING WITH TETRA PAK

In this fun, hands-on one day workshop, you’ll learn the principles of drypoint and collagraph printmaking using Tetra Pak (recycled drinks cartons). Discover the surprising range of marks and textures you can achieve through simple techniques such as scratching, cutting and scoring into the carton surface.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop inking techniques, explore colour mixing, and consider composition as you experiment with the unique qualities of Tetra Pak. We’ll also use a variety of everyday materials-such as sandpaper, parcel tape and other household items-to expand your creative possibilities and enhance your prints.

The techniques you’ll learn offer endless scope for producing original and expressive prints. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and intermediate learners and can be adapted to your level of experience. You can book one workshop, or both to extend printmaking experience.

Please bring an apron, old clothes and protective gloves-printmaking can be a wonderfully messy business!

The classes will run 10.30am-4.00pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Maximum of 4 people (minimum of 3 to run)
Dates: Mon 12th January & Fri 13th February 2026
